Basic Sourdough Starter
Ingredients:
60g (½ cup) unbleached all-purpose or whole wheat flour
60g (¼ cup) filtered or purified water (room temp)
Instructions:
- Mix flour and water in a clean jar until smooth. Cover loosely.
- Let sit at room temp (~70-75°F) for 24 hours.
- Days 2-7: Discard half and feed with 60g flour + 60g water daily.
- By day 7-10, it should double in size with bubbles and a tangy smell—ready to use!
